September is over and October is officially in full swing, which means it ‘tis the season of all things pumpkin, vampy lips, scarves, and melancholy (or maybe that’s just me?). Before we move on to pumpkin season I want to take some time to reminisce about some of my beauty favorites from the past month.
This month I was particularly into layering my NYX Terra Cotta Blush over my Milani Luminoso Baked Blush. The combination was absolute perfection. These two blushes are great on their own, but combined they create depth and warmth. This is a blush duo that will bring together any look.
I will be honest I have never really been a brow person. It takes too much time and I think I look just fine without having to fill in my brows every day. The only time you would ever catch me filling in my brows would be for special occasions, especially if I knew I was going to be photographed. Then one day the Benefit Gimme Brow caught my eye while I was trying to spend enough money on Benefit products to get a free gift from Ulta (anyone else do this?) so I decided to give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that it would feel like I was putting mascara in my brows. I was wrong. I can literally do my eyebrows in less than 30 seconds with this product and the results are fuller, natural looking brows. I have the shade Light/Medium, but I am very tempted to try Medium/Deep for a more dramatic look.
What I am about to say is going to horrify a lot of you. I’m not much of a deodorant wearer. It feels gross, never smells very good, and there all these rumors that deodorant gives you cancer. For the most part I only wore deodorant to fancy events with lots of people like weddings or church. The Lavanilla Healthy Deodorant in Vanilla Lavender makes me excited to wear deodorant every day (you know.. as excited as one can get about deodorant) and even though I am pretty sure I have never had B.O. I sure do smell amazing now!
Have you guys tried out the new NARS Audacious Lipsticks yet?! If not, stop reading and go to your local Sephora and start swatching. I officially own two (they are pricey or I would own more). They feel great on the lips, last forever, and have a great selection of colors. I have nothing, but amazing things to say about these lipsticks. This month I have been loving Annabella. Anabella is a warm tone red. This is the first red lipstick I have owned that I feel like I can get away with wearing every day and I almost did.
I purchased the Stila In the Light Palette during the Ulta 21 days of beauty. I picked it up because it was a deal not necessarily because I loved it, but as the weeks went on I found myself reaching for this palette almost every day. I find that this has a ton of daytime looks. I am not sure if I would ever pay the original $40 for this palette because most of the colors are dupable, but for the $20 I paid it was such a steal. The shadows are very pigmented, very easy to use and overall great quality.
The Dior Pore Minimizer Skin Refining Matte Primer was probably my biggest find of the month. I have been on the hunt for a primer that holds my makeup in place and blurs imperfections without making me oily. This primer has done it. It has lengthened the life of every foundation I’ve paired it with. My best foundations now last all day. I have never been so impressed with a primer. I was genuinely getting to the point where I began to think that primers were a scam to make us spend more money on makeup related items we don’t need, but this one made me see the light. This is a pricey little number, but it is worth every penny.
Last but not least my Clarisonic Mia. I finally jumped on the Mia train and from day one I knew it was worth it. After one use my makeup laid so much better on my skin. A few weeks later and my pores were noticeably smaller. I cannot wait to see how my skin continues to change as I continue to use this product.
