Hellooo my beautiful blushing ladies
Milani not only came out with new Matte Lipsticks (check out my review here), but they also re-released three shades of the previously limited addition Rose Powder Blushes into the permanent collection. Romantic Rose, Tea Rose, and Coral Cove have been released into permanent glory. I purchased all three because I have a makeup hoarding problem… They come in the standard gold Milani packaging with a transparent top. Through the transparent lid you can see that the blushes have been sculpted into the shape of beautiful rose. How cool is that (I’m a sucker for gimmicks).
I am really enjoying all three blushes. Tea Rose is a beautiful matte rosy pink blush great for any occasion. Romantic rose is a matte nude rose that looks fantastic with a nude lip! I have been wearing this one the most out of the three it is very on trend. Coral Cove is a matte bright orangy coral. This one terrified me a bit in the pan. It looked so orange and bright. I know coral is an orangy pink but this looked much more orange then pink. Once on my cheeks I was able to take a sigh of relief. The blush was a beautiful coral when applied.
These applied well on my cheeks over my foundation. When I was swatching them I did notice that the texture felt a bit chalky. I had to really work it to get even swatches on my arm. If you are familiar with Milanis baked blushes you should not expect the same pigment and smoothness. The Rose Powder Blushes are a bit dryer with less pigment. I still feel that they are good blushes. Over foundation they adhered to my skin and blended well. I was able to build them up to my desired pigmentation. If you come across these and find yourself drawn to one of the colors I would go for it. If you come across them and you love the gimmicky rose like I do I would go for it. They are cute, good (but not great) blushes and since they are drugstore I still feel they are worth a go if the cutesy rose or a shade tickles your fancy.
Have any of you tried these blushes? What do you think? What is your favorite drugstore blush?
