Tartelette Eye Shadow Palette: Review + Swatches

Hello my beautiful friends! My name is Addie and I am an eye shadow palette addict. Lately I have been trying to cut down on my beauty purchases due to things costing money and all, but I could NOT pass up on the Tarte Tartelette Eye Shadow palette. When I saw this beautiful bugger in person I knew it had to be mine. I immediately snatched it up to add to my embarrassingly large eye shadow palette collection.

The Tartelette Eye Shadow Palette contains twelve matte eye shadows. The name of the palette is Tartelette which is often what Tarte fans call themselves. Each Shadow has a name of a role a Tarte lover might have besides “Tartelette”. My personal favorite is Super Mom, due to the fact that I view myself as a super mom (duh). The shadows are all neutral with pinky, plum, and brown undertones. It is so beautiful. The packaging is Gold and purple (umm my favorite) and has a HUUUUUUUUGE mirror on the inside which is ALWAYS a must for me in a palette. IMG_0519

I have been playing with this palette for a little over a week now and I am so impressed. All of the shadows have great pigment and are easy to work with. My favorite shades are Force of Nature, Best Friend, and Natural Beauty. All three are like butter and great shades for every day. The two shades I felt that were the poorest performers were Bombshell and Multi-Tasker. Those two shades were slightly powdery and felt a little draggy.

Overall I love this palette. I think it is so unique. I have nothing like this in my collection and even the poorest performing shades and still good shadows. I also would like to note that I dropped this palette on the concrete when I was trying to shoot it and I just knew it was going to be obliterated. I opened it up and was pleasantly surprised to find just the corner of multi-tasker had chipped off. So just FYI this palette is Klutz proof.

Have you tried this palette? Do you have a favorite matte palette?

  1. Hi Addie! I usually use shimmer shadows..I am having a hard time getting into the matte shades. I find they look so dull on my lids. Would you say that the Tartlette matte palate is your favorite mattes? Or do you have another favorite matte combo/palate?

    • That is a reason I originally wasn’t interested in this palette. I felt I had to have some shimmer in a palette. I have been so surprised with the dimension and pop I have gotten from this palette. I really think this will be a favorite go to ever day eye shadow palette for me for a long time.

  2. I’ve been avoiding even looking into this palette but the reviews just keep coming back amazing. What is a shadow addict to do, but buy this one too 😁😁😁😁. Thanks for the beautiful swatches and review darlin!
